Earlier in the year, the streamer had said that it would make limited series based on the author’s novels Missing You and Run Away, produced by Quay Street Productions. The casting news was announced at the annual Next on Netflix event at central London’s Picturehouse Central.
Missing You is about Detective Kat Donovan (Eleazar) whose fiancé Josh disappeared 11 years ago, and she’s never heard from him since. “Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again,” according to a plot description. “Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.”
Rounding out the cast unveiled on Thursday are Steve Pemberton (Inside No9, Happy Valley) as Titus, Paul Kaye (Sexy Beast, The Stranger) as Monte Leburne, Samantha Spiro (Sex Education, Ridley Road) as Nurse Sally Steiner, Lisa Faulkner (Archie, Unforgotten) as Dana Fells and Mary Malone (Doctor Who, The Prince) as Aqua.
Filming for Missing You has commenced in the U.K.
Coben is serving as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions. Missing You and Run Away will be the 9th and 10th Coben on-screen adaptations, respectively, produced via his ongoing creative partnership with the streaming giant.
